Papa Sangre: a 3D mobile game you play by sound.

Players-to-navigate-this-mobile-game-via-sound

This is the setting for a innovative gaming experience - one that requires only your iphone, a pair of headphones and your imagination to play.

The Mobile game is the brainchild of Somethin’ Else, and it uses dynamic binaural sound to create a 3D audio experience that wraps around you as you listen your way out of the maze. It enables you to immerse yourself into this psychological thriller and set out to save the soul of the person you love.

What is perhaps the most fascinating thing about this game is that it's different for every player. Since what you think and the pictures you conjure up in your mind are likely to be entirely different from someone else's.

It's an intelligent, innovative and one-of-a-kind gaming experience that challenges theoretical ideas about gaming and shows you how games and interactive experiences might be developed in future to stimulate the imagination instead of replacing it.

Interactive mass screaming contest

Sound fun?

It's a neat little interactive project called Big Screams. It consists of huge screen populated by digital creatures that you control by mobile phone. By calling a specific number, and screaming as loud as you can, a character appears and battles the other players purely by the power of your scream. The louder your voice, the stronger you are and more power your charachter has to push others off the screen. If pushed off, your phone is disconnected from the game

It may seem a little simplistic but you're actually looking at a version of physical computing and media arts that opens up a huge range of applications for interative creative. It's also a pet interest of mine, and I'd love to get into it if only my mind were a little more technical then I would.

There are many more examples like this online, and I hope to share them here as I come across  similarly cool and interesting ideas.

Watch a demonstration of the challenge in the video below:

extreme gaming with an epson projector

How do you get gamers to buy in to the fact that Epson HD projectors promise to take gaming to a whole new level? Well take one guy and strap a playstation to his back, an HD projector to his front and make him run around town finding the opportunity to play on whatever surface of whatever he can. As Twentysix a digital marketing agency from the UK decided to do.

The result is a truly mad viral campaign that looks like a helluva lot of fun.
